SUPERPOWER SUMMARY

One of the greatest professional joys and accomplishments of my life is to have been an educator for 40 years. My focus has always been on young children from birth to 8 years old. There is nothing that excites a teacher more than to see children excited to learn and grow and to watch that amazing learning process. During those 40 years, I was a classroom teacher for 23 years, an Early Childhood Coordinator for 5 years, a school administrator for 5 years, and a Supervisor of Elementary Education for 7 years. It is my firm belief that a teacher is a mentor and role model for her students supporting them each day to be the best they can be. Educating the whole child is my core belief. Children have physical, cognitive, social, and emotional areas in which they grow and develop. With care and education, they will know that they are respected capable, connected, and contributing members to society and our world. I volunteer for Mentors Who Move as they collaborate with the Daily Mile with the goal of supporting children in their journey toward happy and healthy adulthood.

SUPERPOWER SUMMARY

I'm a marathon and ultra-marathon runner who advocates for children’s health and running. I lead a campaign as an athletic speaker with The Daily Mile across the Greater Houston area and am also the Director of Operations for a multi-state program whose mission is to fight childhood obesity by exposing kids to the active lifestyles of their adult role models through neighborhood fitness.

As a Health & Wellness coach and a former elementary school teacher, I answered my calling in women’s health through skincare. I'm passionate about making a difference in others’ lives and teaching children that achievement is a mindset. You have to decide that you’re going to succeed, and then set a plan and put in the work to make it happen. One Day. One Action. One Habit at a Time.

SUPERPOWER SUMMARY

I’m a retired teacher from the Pittsburgh area. I'm currently enjoying the milder winters in my new home state of South Carolina. When I was younger, I was a Scottish Highland Dancer and a college volleyball player. So I understand the value of exercise. I still walk 2 miles a day to keep fit. It's easy, requires no expensive equipment, and it’s good for my physical and mental health. The Daily Mile is also easy, and a great way to get kids exercising every day. Although my son is grown, I’m a Daily Mile Champion. I use my superpower to spread the word about The Daily mile. I've talked about it with my friends who have small children, so that they can introduce it to their children’s schools. And I've talked about it to our local superintendent of schools. You can make a Daily Mile difference in children's lives. Become a champion like me today!

SUPERPOWER SUMMARY

My name is Jake Roberts and I am originally from London, England. I teach in North Carolina and am proud to be a Daily Mile Champion. Educating children is my passion. I take pride in developing student's social skills and emotional intelligence. I enjoy developing the whole child. The Daily Mile allows my students to take an active, healthy and energizing break from their work. They encourage each other, improve their own fitness, and we bond as a class as a result. I love the simplicity of the Daily Mile and have loved helping to introduce it here in the US. As a Champion I help to introduce The Daily Mile to my colleagues in the educational community and beyond.
