Daily mile is running to England

A campaign that has primary school pupils in Scotland running a mile a day in an attempt to cut obesity is raising pulses across the UK as it takes over school playgrounds and pitches south of the border.

Fears of the toll on children’s health from increasingly sedentary lifestyles have spurred the runaway popularity of the daily mile, which is set to receive public funding from health authorities in England for the first time.
