The Daily Mile is now in 2,000 Schools
2,000 schools in America have joined The Daily Mile movement
More than 840,000 children in more than 2,000 schools across the U.S. are now signed up for The Daily Mile, the life-changing children’s health, and wellbeing initiative! This includes schools in 49 states and Washington, D.C.
“It’s so exciting that The Daily Mile is now in over 2,000 schools throughout the U.S., and to see that number just continue to grow,” said Daily Mile Program Manager Bill Russell. “Knowing this means hundreds of thousands of children around the nation are getting healthier emotionally, mentally, and physically, and seeing improvements in the classroom is so inspiring.”
Some amazing national, regional, and local partners have helped spread the word about The Daily Mile over the last few years, and exciting things are on the horizon.
A huge THANK YOU to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Youth Sports Strategy, the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE America), and children’s mental health charity Erika’s Lighthouse for helping spread the word of The Daily Mile throughout the country. Reaching this milestone also wouldn’t have been possible without the support of several organizations that provide direct access to schools to spread the message of The Daily Mile. Those partners include Special Olympics Unified Schools, Los Angeles County Department of Health, Mentors Who Move and Move to Live More.
“The Daily Mile USA couldn’t have reached this milestone without the help and support of our amazing partners who work tirelessly to spread the word about The Daily Mile. We want to thank them for all the hard work that they do to make students are getting happier and healthier,” Russell said. “And there are even more partnerships in the works. It truly is an exciting time to be part of the move to movement.”
To all of our Daily Mile schools, THANK YOU for being part of our community! You have accomplished some amazing things already with The Daily Mile, and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you.
