A simple and healthy idea has found its way to schools south of the border

It is such a simple idea that the only surprise is why it was not thought of earlier. Getting every primary school pupil to run a mile in the course of the day was the brainchild of Elaine Wyllie when she was head teacher at St Ninian’s in Stirling, where pupils routinely spend 15 minutes every day jogging around the playground. It has improved their health, their behaviour and their attitude in class.
